Study On The Regional Difference In Relation Of Energy Consumption With Economic Growth In China

Regional development as a means of improving the socialist market economic system was carried out at the stage of the growing disparities of regional economic problem. To narrow the differences between regions, we should vigorously promote the relatively backward economic growth. The relationship between energy and economic growth, manifested in two aspects:The first, ecoonomic growth is dependent on energy consumption and this dependency is growing,the other hand ,economic growth make large-scale development and utilization of energy resources to be realited. That is to say energy development should be premised on economic growth. There is no doubt about the energy factor is more and more indispensibale to economic development energy constraints and bottlemecks become increasingly obvious .Based on the existing energy scale and consumption structure,optimizing energy consumption structure and improving energy efficiency are urgent problem .Therefore,we must sort out our country's regional differences between energy consumption an economic growth .This article takes the economic growth theory as the instruction, utilized modern statistical theory and method and profited from the domestic and foreign related research results, making system analysis on the regional difference in relation of energy consumption with economic growth in coastal economy quite developed area and the west economy owed developed area.First,in foundation of comprehensive elaboration economic growth theory,we used the coefficient of variation,Theil indicators to make descriptive analysis,then,using the panel data unit root test,co-integration test and error corrected model,we conducted the comparison research on the long term and short term relations between the energy consumption and economic growth in eastern,central,western and northwest region of China,observing the different mutual function relations in the stratification plane. In the end of this paper,based on the research,our country monetary system reform policy are proposed.The research indicated,in China, we confirmed the regional differences do exist. The internal differences of eastern part the biggest part contribution in differences of economic growth,which Mega-cities such as Shanghai and Beijing leading to. The internal differences of northeas is the main reason for the differences of energy consumption, the empirical analysis show the obvius difference in four regions of China: obvious in the relationship between energy consumption and economic growth:no bi-derectional short-term causality are founded in eastern region and there is a long-term causality from energy consumption to GDP;a long-term relation from GDP to energy consumption only is founded in central region and west region and no obvious two-way causality from energy consumption to GDP in short-term relation;However,to the northest region,no obvius causality in short-term between energy consumption and GDP and there is just a long-term causality from GDP to energy consumption.We can conclude that there is closely linked between the regional economic development and the energy consumption on different limited condition.for the regional differences between energy consumption and economic growth,some corresponding policy recommendations were given: 1.optimizing the energy consumption structure,optimizing the structure of energy supply and demand,optimizing the energy consumption structure; 2.To develop in line with the actual situation in the region's energy policy and take strict energy conservation policy.
