Research On The "Polycentric" Spatial Structure Of Shanghai Producer Service Industry

The global service industry has been entered into a fast growth general trend in since 1980's. Most metropolises have finished the transition from industry-style economic to service-style economic. The shift of industry is not abandon of manufacturing industry but is a extend developing and forms industry structure dominated as producer services industry. The objects of producer services mainly include producing process or other services process. Comparing to consumer service industry, producer service industry is a high intelligence, high concentration, high radiation and high employment modern service industry. Therefore, the development of producer services is not only at increasing output value and changes in employment structure, but also on renewing of produce model and optimizing urban structure. With regard to producer service spatial structure, study peak appeared in overseas academic circle, but it is a pity that the homeland academic circles are less to study on the theory.The paper adopts the methods of literature review, questionnaire, statistics, spatial analysis on Shanghai spatial structure of producer service industry. Firstly, the paper defines the relationship between agglomeration of producer service industry and CBD system, and summarizes three development patterns through analyzing producer service industry"polycentric"spatial structure in New York, London and Tokyo in order to benefit for Shanghai. Secondly, the paper explains the historical reason why Shanghai producer services clustering developing, and shows the reason of the clustering development of core area producer service industry. Base on these, the paper introduces the present situation of producer service industry in order to build the fundamental of the following sections. Thirdly, the paper mainly studies the multi-center structure and mechanism of Shanghai central area of producer services industry. This paper takes business building as carrier, according to the features data and spatial data of Shanghai 2007 business building and by using Mapinfo, analyzing the spatial structure of core area producer service industry in detail. Shanghai producer service industry"polycentric"spatial structure is a result, which is shaped by internal mechanism and outer mechanism. The development of business districts and producer industry park is internal mechanism. Moreover, outer mechanism includes agglomeration and diffuse force of producer service industry, government policy force and traffic-lead force.Based on the research above, the paper discuss the positive and negative effects of producer service industry"polycentric"spatial structure. The positive effects include promoting the industrial structure of shanghai, promoting spatial structure optimization and promoting urban function. It's negative effects include excessive competition caused by administrative division , unbalanced development of Sub-center,Failure of coordinated development with polycentric structure producer service. At last, the paper puts forward some active suggestions and tentative plan on Shanghai producer service industry spatial development.
