Urban interior spatial structure has been the focus of policy and academic circles.Since the reform and opening up,China’s urbanization development momentum has been vigorously released,but there is still a long way to go from international comparison and horizontal comparison.Along with this rapid urbanization process and economic growth,there are a series of urban development contradictions and challenges.City is the most important carrier of economic development.Considering from the city level,the essence of the main contradiction in the current society is the mismatch between urban development efficiency and urban internal resource allocation efficiency,the disconnection between urban scale and urban governance ability improvement,and the conflict between urban development advantages and urban development contradictions.How to view and cope with the current urban development contradictions and challenges,how to optimize the urban internal spatial structure by planning the future urban development vision and reasonable planning of the future urban internal spatial structure,strengthen the urban development carrying capacity,further improve the urban development level and urbanization development quality,and promote the efficiency of resource allocation,It is the key to solve the principal contradictions of our society from the urban perspective.From the micro-perspective of agglomeration economy and urban comfort level,combined with relevant theories of urban economics and regional economics,and based on big spatial data such as population raster data,micro-enterprise data and land use data,this paper accurately measures the spatial structure of Chinese cities and answers the question of "evolution trend and influence of the spatial structure of Chinese cities".This paper further explores the effect and mechanism of urban multicenter spatial structure on economic performance in China,which has important theoretical and practical significance.This paper focuses on the core proposition of "whether polycentric spatial structure promotes economic performance and its influencing mechanism".On this basis,based on multi-dimensional and diversified data,this paper examines the economic performance and influence mechanism of the multi-center spatial structure in Chinese cities from the composite perspective of agglomeration economy and urban comfort level,which provides empirical evidence from China for related research and theoretical guidance for the future development of the multi-center spatial structure in China.The main findings of this paper are as follows:First,the polycentric spatial structure has a positive and significant relationship with economic performance.Second,urban size plays a role in promoting economic performance of multi-center spatial structure.Third,there is a U-shaped nonlinear relationship between urban internal spatial structure and economic performance,and it is in the right half of U-shaped when the number of centers is greater than 1.Fourthly,multi-center spatial structure significantly promotes economic performance through agglomeration economic mechanism and urban comfort mechanism.Fifth,the development of adjacent centers is conducive to the promotion of multi-center economic performance.The unbalanced development among urban centers is more conducive to promoting economic performance,and this effect has distance heterogeneity.The promoting effect of the spatial structure of the central city on economic performance is more obvious in the east and the south,and the promoting effect is not significant for the central city or not.Sixth,the improvement of urban size and density helps to improve the promoting effect of multi-center spatial structure on enterprise productivity,and sub-center scale is the key to play the promoting role of economic performance of urban internal spatial structure.Seventh,expressway and high-speed rail have a positive and significant promoting effect on economic performance,which is conducive to improving the promoting effect of multi-center spatial structure on economic performance.The innovation of this paper lies in the following aspects: from the perspective of research,different from previous studies based on agglomeration economy or urban comfort from a single perspective,this paper constructs an analytical framework of agglomeration economy and urban comfort from a dual perspective.In terms of center identification methods and indexes,different from various center equilibrium indexes commonly used in the past,this paper uses the combination of non-parametric method and threshold method to identify the number of urban centers from the economic sense by using population raster data,and then describes the inner spatial structure of the city.In terms of research scale,starting from the micro enterprise level,this paper is conducive to better identify and test the mechanism of multi-center spatial structure affecting economic performance.The findings of this paper have important policy implications.This paper points out that at present,urbanization of our country is at a critical and critical period to promote to the advanced stage and the multi-center spatial structure construction of urban interior will be an important starting point to improve the quality of urbanization development in our country in the future.Based on this,the paper considers that the construction of urban multi-center space structure in the future should pay attention to the following points: First,we should promote the construction of urban multi-center space structure in the future.Secondly,in the process of promoting the construction of multi-center space structure,the leading role of the main center should be correctly understood.Third,we should carefully consider direct control of population size in megacities.Fourth,define the development stage of the city and promote the construction of sub-centers according to local conditions;Fifth,transport infrastructure should play a leading role.
