In the early 80s of the last century ,a large number of rural population flooded into cities, forming China and history of the world large-scale "flow of farmer workers." Farmer workers make a huge contribution to society, but our social insurance system is not perfect,so their legitimate rights and interests of social insurance are not guaranteed. The aim of social insurance is reducing occupational and social risk. In China, farmer workers'social insurance lacks portability, which has resulted in the losses of social insurance rights and interests of farmer workers .If we want to ensure that farmer workers can enjoy medical insurance, unemployment insurance, work injury insurance, maternity insurance and old age insurance in their work time or payment period, which must be resolved is the farmer workers social insurance portability issue. In this paper, according to the existing social insurance policies and previous research, the model of farmer worker social insurance in China comes down to four modes: urban working staff basic insurance, imitateing urban working staff basic insurance, comprehensive insurance and rural basic insurance. Through the contrast of four modes, analysing their social insurance status and portability problems,to further explore the social insurance of farmers resulted in the loss of portability reasons. Improving the social security of farmer workers needs to build its portability required to adapt the internal and external environment, set up the social insurance system effectively between "city to city" and "city to urban". On this basis, study farmer workers'social insurance model, and try to improve farmer workers'social insurance portability to put forward policy recommendations.
