The Development Of EPON And The Research Of The Project Management In The Test Project Of EPON

The expansion of the market demand for broadband access is an inevitable trend, in the globe area. Because of the enormous advantage in the broadband area, FTTH such as EPON has became the hotspot of the broadband access, in the new round competition of broadband access market. It will be the leading role in the new round development of broadband and the leading technique in the new generation of the broadband access. But in actual application, EPON has many defects, such as that the cost of construction is high, the stability and connectivity of the EPON equipment are poor, and it's lack of technical specification and construction specification.This thesis will elaborate the developments of EPON both in China and aboard first, and then, I will appliance of the basic knowledge that getting from the Master curriculums in project management to the test project of EPON that I participate personally. It not only helps us to unite theory with practice in project management but also fully integrate between the project management knowledge and the project that encountered in practical work. This thesis focuses on the research of scope management, time management and implementation process analysis in the test project of EPON, and it also analyzes the problems that happened in this project scientifically. At last, the technical and construction specifications of the EPON fiber optic access network are summarized in this thesis, and that will provide the reference and the foundation for the EPON in actual application, it will play a guiding role in the application and future of EPON.
