Inventory management is an important function in enterprise management; it is not only has a direct impact on corporate liquidity flow, but also plays a vital role in meeting customer service. With the continuous development of market economy, inventory management has been given more meaning and function, has been subject to the business sector and the theory of general concern. The task of inventory management is to maximize the system's level of service, reduce inventory total cost and enhance their market competitiveness. The continuous raises of supply chain inventory management give more programs for the settlement of the inventory problems in enterprises.This paper studies the stock issues of W company from the perspective of the supply chain. W company is China's largest listed telecommunications equipment manufacturing company, founded in 1986 and it is one of the 520 key enterprises supported by Chinese government. W company is China's the pioneer of telecommunications equipment manufacturing industry and integrated telecom equipment and services provider, with three major product lines including wireless products, network products, end-product (phone).In recent years, with the company's rapid growth in business volume, the traditional inventory management model has many problems. This paper first expounded the basic principles of inventory and inventory management and then expounded the theory of supply-chain and the inventory problem under supply chain environment. Based on these theory, carried out a detailed analysis of the inventory management problem of W company, including demand forecasts are inaccurate, raw material / semi-finished goods / products stocks occupied the capital; security stocks set unreasonable, inventory turnover rate is low, do not use the advanced inventory management techniques and do not use information technology, do not establish an effective system of information exchange. On the basis of analyzing the problem, raised the specific inventory management improvement measures of the W company——1. Inventory will be reduced through attestation management of suppliers, carrying out modes such as JIT, DUN and VMI, activating, reselling and rejecting materiel of low turnover rate; 2. The timeliness of materiel assortment will be elevated through assortment management of materiel ABC and electronic monitoring system control method; 3. According to the materiel demand of each manufacture region, the consignment site of materiel will be renewed in every month, the storage distribution will be made out scientifically and the suppliers will be required to adapt multicast to reduce mailing of internal manufacture materiel; 4. The information platform will be optimized through shared platform construction based on Internet, realizing informational management. Finally, in summing up on the basis of this study, give a prospect of the further study.
