As China's socialistic market economic system gradually improved and international and domestic markets integrated quickly, industry competition has gotten more and more attention. From the aspect of national or regional economic development, macro-level national and regional economic competitiveness would be reflected by industrial competitiveness finally. However, the measure of industrial competitiveness still is a problem that cannot be solved in the near future, different industries have different standards. But to problem the international competitive strategy or strategic thinking, we cannot wait everything be resolved before practice.At present, China's ceramic industry is facing the problem that how to improve the international competitiveness: China's ceramic industry has made great achievements in the production and export, accounted for about 50% of the world's total output, and nearly 70% of the global exports volume, but China's ceramics'export amount accounted for only about 20% of the total. So far, however, only professor He-ping Zuo of the Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute, and Yan-ping Liu of the University of International Business and Economic, according to China's export data before joining the WTO, made relevant quantitative analysis. There are many penetrating judgments, but most of them are qualitative analysis, with subjectivity more or less.According to the characteristics of China's ceramics industry, learn from a doctor who works in Chinese Academy of Social Sciences named Jin-chang Zhang's"index system based on import and export data " , made a systematic analysis of international competitiveness of the China's ceramics industry, furthermore, on the basis of that, made a SWOT analysis of the China's ceramics Industry. After a comprehensive analysis, concluded that: China's ceramics industry has a clear comparative advantage, meanwhile, as the impact of joining the WTO, China's ceramics export has been developed so much, such as: the export market share increased, the import market share decreased, the proportion of export increased. But China's ceramics industry, lack the competitive advantage obviously. And compared with the import ceramic products, China's export ceramic products obviously are on the low side, such as: the quality of export ceramic products decreased the comparable prices of import and export increased. Finally, based on the above analysis, gave the suggestions and measures of how to improve the international competitiveness of China's ceramics industry, hope can do some help with ceramic enterprises'strategies making, or someone's further research.
