Research On The Project Management Maturity Model Of Railway Construction Enterprises

Under the increasingly competitive situation, how to improve the project management capacity and the competitiveness of the railway construction enterprises has become an issue that managers focus on. At present, the level of project management is not high in the field of railway construction generally. Besides, the concepts and techniques of project management have not been emphasized enough, and its application efficiency is low. Research on Project Management Maturity Model (PM3) has become an important subject in the field of project management. By researching the Project Management Maturity Model of railway construction enterprises, managers can find out the weakness of their project management, and make a plan to improve, then the level of project management can be promoted. This is significant for improving the competitive advantage of railway construction enterprises, even all the construction companies.Studies on Project Management Maturity Model of Railway Construction Enterprises are provided in this dissertation. According to current project management theories and the results of domestic and foreign researches on PM3, the index system of evaluating the project management maturity of Railway Construction Enterprises is founded, considering the characteristics of the railway construction project, and Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation method is introduced, by combining theoretical with empirical research, and qualitative with quantitative research.Firstly, with theoretical study, a literature review is given to the research of PM3. It can be found that the current models are not suitable to applying in evaluating the project management maturity of railway construction companies, considering the features of railway construction.Secondly, the complex influent factors of project management maturity of railway construction companies are analyzed. They are separated into basic elements and classified in the form of hierarchical structure. An index system of evaluating the project management maturity is found.Lastly, considering the comprehensive and fuzzy characteristic in evaluating the project management maturity of railway construction companies, Fuzzy Comprehensive Theory is introduced to evaluate it, being scientific evaluation methods and tools. Then a case is given to test the feasibility of the model produced.
