Qingdao has successfully held the International Beer Festival once a year for 18 times up till now . The festival has developed into a unique and charming event integrating beer with tourism, culture, economy, trade, science, technology, sports and other activities. Its characteristics are that it is international, has mass participation, and provides recreation and cultural enjoyment. As it develops, the beer festival should exploit its potential and content fully by promoting brand-development and by constantly improving all products. It should enrich its culture through combining urban culture, beer culture and food culture. This will enhance the quality and impact of the Qingdao International Beer Festival in Qingdao city.Being a draw card for Qingdao City, Qingdao International Beer Festival is now world famous and its development increasingly draws the attention of the academic world . However, the research has focused on the festival brands and on cultural construction but little on the food offered. Unfortunately, factors such as lack of variety, nutrient imbalance, high price and improper management of sanitation have influenced the development of the Qingdao International Beer Festival and have to some extent spoilt the image of the festival.The side dish plays an important part in the products of the Qingdao International Beer Festival. The visitors want to have the delicious local food while enjoying the tasty beer. It is an Inexorable Trend for Qingdao International Beer Festival and its side dish in the sustainable development to meet the requirements of the tourists first, and present a rich variety of "green, natural, harmonious and healthy" local food with the principles of culturally constructed festival ,harmonious development and good food nutrition as well as marketing, including comprehensive sustainable principles of culture focusing on strong local characteristics, multiformity, to produce variety-rich dishes balanced in nutrition which are produced in sanitary conditions. Developing interesting and healthy side dishes for the Qingdao International Beer Festival will contribute to brand strategy.The side dish of Qingdao International Beer Festival is promising and it will become the new momentum for the development of the Qingdao International Beer Festival To develop a variety of side dishes with multi-cultural combinations and promote these new dishes as part of the culture of the festival is the marketing strategy. The catering enterprise should market the brand name so that it becomes an integral part of the festival shopping. The offer of these brand products at the festival for tourists to purchase will improve the influence of the side dishes for Qingdao International Beer Festival.The development and research of side dishes served at the Qingdao International Beer Festival has enriched the tourism theory of Qingdao and will continue to grow and to promote the active participation of the catering businesses. Specialized side dishes with Qingdao characteristics will promote the harmonious development of the Qingdao International Beer Festival.
