The stability of the grid becomes more and more influencing in economic growth with the demand and supply of electricity increases significantly. The traditional maintenance method that is based on time and plan has many shortages such as inadequate or excessive maintenance, higher cost and so on. Condition-based maintenance, as an advanced maintenance model, uses condition assessment, risk prediction and decision making to carry out equipment maintenance. The method being used to assess the condition of equipment ignores the influence between different equipments and is not comprehensive enough. It also has long process, which makes it a bottleneck of condition-based maintenance.To solve the problems above, a method based on new index system, AHP and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation is introduced in this paper. AHP can decide the weight of each index. Fuzzy comprehensive evaluation, on the other hand, can assess the condition of equipment. By research based on equipment of Hengshui city distribution networks, the method proved to be realistic and practicable.
