A Study On Perfection Of Government Supervision On Food Safety

Food safety is related to the nation's economy and people's livelihood.Our country has basically resolved the problem of food shortage,then food quality and safety of the whole society has attracted increasing attention.The impact of food safety incidents from the individual,the family expanded to the community,with the pace of globalization,food security problems and even beyond national boundaries,and become a worldwide problem.In recent years,China's food safety incidents has been repeatedly exposed by the news media,in particular,the "poison milk powder" incident of Sanlu company in 2008, making food security become the hottest social issues.The incident bring a crisis of confidence of consumers,not only affected the people's livelihood,but even affect the image of China's government and international image.Therefore,it is great significance to combine technology and management tool to improve the food security situation.On the first part of this article,I introduced the meaning and characteristics of food safety,analysis the theory of public goods and the theory of market failure.It is the foundation for the whole study.In the second part,I introduced some successful monitor experiences of food safety in Beijing Olympics.Then I analysis China's food safety condition from four aspects,and point out that the existing problems.The third part,according to the experience of Beijing Olympics,I propose some measures to strengthen the supervision of China's food safety.First of all,institutional coordination should be harmonized;rules should be established to improve and strictly enforce the law;then provide technical support;final recommendations to government regulation of food safety assessment and accident accountability,build a safer food market.Based on the new regulatory environment,When executive the "Food Safety Law", we should also perfect the relevant laws and regulations and inspection standards,and learn from the Beijing Olympic experience in food safety regulation,suggest a series of government regulation to improve food safety recommendations.
