The small and medium-sized commercial banks in our country have gotten great progress since they came into being,which are significant to our banking-industry.But they got into dilemma currently that are they are inferior to the big four stated-own banks in service and benefit. Although they possess some advantages,their disadvantages are also apparently.How to improve the competition of the small and medium-sized commercial banks has already abstracted the eye-balls of domestic academic and banking circles.Along with the development of the private economy and financial system,the status and role of small and medium-sized commercial banks increased,and the development of small and medium sized commercial banks in the China's financial sector and macroeconomic have important practical significance.How to enhance the competitiveness of small and medium-sized commercial banks and the banking sector has become the focus of attention of the academic community.The paper study the competition of the small and middle commercial banks deeply by defining their scale,analyzing competitiveness forming mechanism,constitutional model and appraisal index system,provide a pragmatic framework to how to recognize small and middle commercial banks' competitiveness by analyzing the factors of forming competitiveness,how to evaluate it,their current conditions and give some proposals to how to improve small and middle commercial banks' competitiveness.Evaluation of the competitiveness of small and medium-sized commercial banks should be measured by the core competitive edge,The paper analysis the problem in accordance with the index system formed by the scientific integrity of the evaluation model. Improve the competitive edge of small and medium-sized commercial banks should focus on four areas,namely the marketing strategy and cultural strategies,innovative strategies,technology strategy,efforts to improve.This will help China's small and medium-sized commercial banks in the fierce market competition embarked on the road of healthy development.
