Currently small and middle commercial banks are in a plight:in scale and network they are inferior to the big four stated-owned banks;in services level and beneficial results they fail to reach foreign-owned banks.Their disadvantageous position is remarkable.How to improve their competiveness already become the focus of domestic academic circles and banking circles.This thesis aims to deepen the competiveness study by defining small and middle commercial banks ,analyzing competiveness forming mechanism,constitutional model and appraisal index system,provide a pragmatic frame on how to correctly recognize small and middle banks competiveness by analyzing the problems of how competiveness formed,how to evaluate,current condition and how to improve,thus give out some operational advices on how to improve small and middle commercial banks competiveness.
