Regional Growth Pole In The Integration Of Changsha, Zhuzhou And Xiangtan

Regional growth pole theory was widely used in China's regional economic development, China's establishment of a series of special economic zones and the subsequent introduction of the western development strategy are all the successful application of this theory. Later, this theory is gradually be applied to the regional economic development of the provinces. With the guidance of the theory, the government of Hunan Province have been succeeded in creating a growth pole in the integration of Changsha, Zhuzhou and Xiangtan. Currently, on the one hand, the integration of Changsha, Zhuzhou and Xiangtan is accelerating, on the other hand, Changsha have played a central role in the region. Accordingly, based on the growth pole theory , empirical researches were carried out on the economic impact among Changsha, Zhuzhou and Xiangtan Analysing the possibility of Changsha growing as a growth pole and its role in the integration of Changsha, Zhuzhou and Xiangtan.The article firstly defined the concept of regional growth pole, and made a detailed analysis of the mechanism of the regional growth pole theory. Then, from both the status of the integration of Changsha, Zhuzhou and Xiangtan and the advantages of Changsha, it analysed the basis of fostering regional growth in the integration of Changsha, Zhuzhou and Xiangtan. What is more,we collected the data of 1988-2007 about this region to establish vector making a simulation analysis on the economic impact among Changsha, Zhuzhou and Xiangtan. The analysis result shows that Changsha's economic growth will benefit the entire regional economies, while narrow the disparity between Changsha and Xiangtan, Changsha and Zhuzhou. Instead, Xiangtan and Zhuzhou 's economic growth would be Conducive to their self-development in the short term,However, has little effect on the long-term economic development in Changsha, Zhuzhou and Xiangtan regions . It can be seen that Changsha has the strongest leading role in Changsha, Zhuzhou and Xiangtan regions, it is conducive to promoting the integration of Changsha, Zhuzhou and Xiangtan.Therefore, considering the situation of regional economic development in Changsha, Zhuzhou and Xiangtan regions, this paper argues that giving priority to the development of Changsha, fostering Changsha to become regional growth pole in Changsha, Zhuzhou and Xiangtan regions in the next 20 years, will be conducive to the rapid economic development throughout Changsha, Zhuzhou and Xiangtan regions. Based on the above conclusions, this article puts forward policies and recommendations to promote the rapid development of regional economic from the industry, business, government and other perspectives.
