The international container transportation gradually enters a stationary phase from the prosperous rise period following the speed-up postponing of the world economics and trade.This profession even presents the bleak aspect of supply in excess of demand under the economic crisis.However Tianjin port welcomes the development opportunity -the country development project of construction the international shipping center and logistics center in north areas.As the key carrier of achieving the goals, the development model and speed of Tianjin Port achieved unprecedented attention.Container transportation is the most growth prospect profession,so being impetus its development is very meaningful for achieving the project.This paper analyses the inner and external environmental effects of Tianjin Port container transport,finds the opportunity and threat as well as the strength and weakness of its way to be the international container hinge.By using quantitative and qualitative method paper predicts the to-be 20 years' container throughputs of Tianjin Port.The results says that the speed of the throughput rising would be gradually slow down in a long time.At last,this paper proposes the development strategies of growth-extension and diversification based on the analysis of the SWOT model.The developing direction of Tianjin Port is maintaining the strength of the red sea and exploitation field of the blue sea.The developing key is pursuing the maximum profits and achieving the goal of city thriving followed by port development.The specific development countermeasure of Tianjin Port mainly contains:moderate construction of port,enhance transport capacity of railway, strengthen cooperation of regions,improve service quality and build brand effect of enterprise.
