Tianjin Port Container Transport Domestic Trade Development Strategy Study

Tianjin Port started domestic container service from 1996. Three shipping companies, NanQing Container Lines, at that time, China Shipping and COSCO, can provide domestic container operation service in Tianjin port. In 2007, fourteen shipping companies have deployed their vessels calling at Tianjin and commenced their domestic container service. In Novermber, 2006,China Shipping company launched three 4650TEU containership into competitive route from Tianjin Port to Huangpu Port, accounting for 45 percent of total domestic container throughput of Tianjin Port. At the same time, other domestic container shipping company added freight capacity into the routes from Tianjin to Yingkou,Qinhuangdao,Ningbo,Shanghai,Taicang,Shenzhen,Haikou,etc.and provide outspreaded logistic service to all of the country through feeder , train and trucks. Followed with rapid development of domestic container service , more and more deficiencies for Tianjin Port are discovered. In this article, we will analyze the actuality of domestic container transportation and table proposals for future development of Tianjin Port.
