Preliminary Research For Qingdao Urban Tourism Environment Carrying Capacity

The vigorous growth of urban tourism has advanced the development of urban economics, however, it has also brought several negative issues to the city's comprehensive environment, such as the destruction of ecosystem, the excessive development of tourism resources, the scenic spots always overloading, etc. Therefore, the study on current situation and development countermeasures of urban tourism environment carrying capacity is both inevitable and necessary. Taking the present research results of tourism environment carrying capacity as backing, this essay has studied on the current situation of Qingdao urban tourism environment carrying capacity, the problems of development and some suggestions for its future development in order to promote the sustainable development of Qingdao urban tourism.Based on great amount of the literatures at home and abroad, bought and assimilated the essence of the already research results and considered the real situation and characteristics of Qingdao, this paper structured the assessment indictor system of Qingdao urban tourism environment carrying capacity. In this foundation, this paper collected the statistical data of Qingdao's economics, society, environment and tourism from 2002 to 2007 and calculated the 6 years' environment carrying capacity of Qingdao in nature, economy, society and its comprehensive figure. The result showed that: the comprehensive urban tourism environment carrying capacity of Qingdao in recent six years is moderate, however, a few components like transportation and scenic spots is already overloading. The contradiction between the whole environment and the part is obvious, so development of the harmonious tourism is facing challenges in practice.Research both at home and abroad has shown that the social psychology carrying capacity has a vital influence on the tourism environment carrying capacity. This indicator cannot be calculated by statistical data directly, so this paper used the social statistical software SPSS to analyze and study the material of the site survey. The analysis results shows that the psychology carrying capacity of tourists visiting Qingdao and the local residents is moderate and the relationship between local residents and tourists are quite harmonious. However, it is generally believed that there are too many tourists in the scenic spot, the tourism shopping environment is too disorder.In connect with the current situation and problems of Qingdao urban tourism environment carrying capacity and considering the development tendency of tourism in the future, at the end of this paper the author gave a few suggestions and countermeasures from the perspective of tourists, local residents and the government.
