Appraisal Research On Competitiveness Of Pharmaceutical Industry Of Jilin Province

With the development of economic globalization and market economy system in our country day-by-day,"competition"has become a hot discussion topic. Especially after China has entered WTO, enterprises in our country will face more opportunity at the same time, they will also face huge pressure of competition from the external economy. Based on this kind of background, study institutes and experts both in the domestic and foreign are paying great attention to the research on competition and the competitiveness. The development condition of a certain area 's national economy is determined by its local industry and the industrial development condition, while competitive power in this area is determined by competition strength of its leading industry and by internal structure of the local industry If the leading industry's competition strength is strong, its market expansion is bond to be powerful, and its ability of creating wealth will also get strengthened, thus national economy promote in this area will accelerate its developing speed. Therefore, industrial competitiveness, especially competitiveness of the leading industry is an important indicator when weighing competitiveness in a country or a certain area。We may say that competitiveness of the leading industry determines the prosperity of industries, and fundamentally determines destiny of a country or an area. The Pharmaceutical Industry is in an important industry in national economy. It involves in the health of the people, social stability and economic development. With the development of modern pharmacy, pharmaceutical , chemistry and biology, the Pharmaceutical Industry has obtained unprecedented development power, and unprecedented new pharmaceutical has appeared all over the world, many diseases unable to be treated before is have their treatment ways. Especially when entering the 21st century, because of the economical development, population growth, formation of the aging population society, enhancement of the human health demand and the science and technology progress, the pharmaceutical industry continues developing by a high speed, it has been called as the sunrise industry which never declines. Facing China this potential giant developing market, the overseas big pharmaceutical manufacture company will never lose such good opportunity, they have already participated in through all kinds of ways in our country, and the increasingly fierce domestic competition in pharmaceutical market has evolved into"the domestic market, the international competition"state..As one of the five big pillar industries in Jilin Province, pharmaceutical industry has continued developing at a high speed in past few years. While during the development, there also some insufficiencies, which have hindered the development of pharmaceutical industry competitiveness. Industry competitiveness has direct influence on prosperity of the industry, so it is of vital significance to promote pharmaceutical industry competitiveness in Jilin Province. It also has theory and reality meaning to the research on such topic.From the theoretically level, making research on competitive ness in Jilin Province is helpful for the further development of study range for competitiveness and perfecting of industry competition theory, and it is helpful for development of industrial competitivess theory, as well as study method. From the practical level, research on pharmaceutical industry competitiveness is not only helpful for impelling the promotion of overall development level for pharmaceutical industry in Jilin Province , but aslo helpful for other areas in our country, and even for pharmaceutical industry development in the whole nation. After discussing development condition of pharmaceutical industry in Jilin Province,and analyzing its superiority and insufficiency, we explore the idea and ways of how to enhance the competitiveness of pharmaceutical industry, so that enterprises in Jilin Province will win in the competition with external competitors, thus build a solid foundation found for entering the international market . Here we offer a few ordinary introductory remarks so that others may offer their valuable ideas, to wait exquisitely theory.This thesis is divided into six chapters as followed: The first chapter, introduction. It goes from the important social position and current urgent state of pharmaceutical industry, and on basis of summarizing domestic and foreign related research results, It is clear about theoretical and practical value of the topic selection, and it makes general arrangement on the main research content,logical framework as well as the research technique.The second chapter, domestic and foreign research summary.This chapter is the basic theory part, at first,it makes clear about the conception of industry and competitiveness as well as the research scope in the thesis; Next, it introduces four kinds of basic theories of industrial competitiveness including: Classical trade theory, new trade theory, Poter theory, WEF and IMD competition theory. Finally it discusses important meaning of promoting industry competitiveness. This chapter elaborated with emphasis on the connotation of industrial competitiveness, through the research on the existing research results, we believe that industrial competitiveness power manifests in three aspects including resources application, science and technology transformation and market profit, building theory basis for the construction of industrial competitiveness evaluation model.The third chapter,construction of evaluating indicator system and model establishment. After the previous theory, we begin to construct evaluating model of the industry competitiveness.It is an extension of basic theory. This chapter has made clear about the principles of evaluating indicator system for industrial competitiveness as well as mechanism and influencing factors of industrial competitiveness. According to the results of the above analysis, we design indicators in second level from three aspects including resource investment competitiveness, technological innovation ability and the market competitiveness, and through analyzing functions of various indicators, we finally select 13 indicators to establish appraisal indicators in third-level. And we select Analytic Hierarchy Process as appraisal method. This chapter construction of evaluating indicator system and model has gone down with the preceding theory and passing down to he empirical analysis, it has played the linking role.Chapter four, present situation and appraisal of pharmaceutical industry competitiveness in Jilin Province. This chapter rests on the previous evaluation model to carry on the appraisal analysis on pharmaceutical industry competitiveness in Jilin Province, this is an important part of the thesis. First ,it has carried on systematical analysis on present situation of pharmaceutical industry in our province , from resource investment competitiveness , technological innovation ability and market competitiveness to carry on the careful description of present development situation of pharmaceutical industry in Jilin Province. Next, it describes in details of the problems exist during the development of pharmaceutical industry. Finally, industrial competitiveness evaluating model has been established based on this thesis, we have carried on appraisal on pharmaceutical industry in Jilin Province .This chapter is not only the practical application of the previous appraisal model of industry competitiveness, but also the basis of proposing promotion strategy and countermeasure for pharmaceutical industry competitiveness in Jilin Province.Chapter Five,countermeasure of how to promote competitiveness of pharmaceutical industry in Jilin Province on basis of the analysis in the first four chapters. It is the sublimation part of this thesis, and it is also the ultimate objective of this thesis. According to the preceding study on problems human resources investment, investment environment, scientific innovation, enterprise agglomeration, enterprise credit, and circulation system of pharmaceutical industry in Jilin Province as well as empirical results, we get that the promotion of pharmaceutical industry competitiveness in Jilin Province should start from the resource investment, innovation ability and market environment.Chapter Six is conclusion and forecast. It is summary of the main research conclusion in the full thesis, and according to the insufficiency of study in the thesis, the following research the direction has been put forward.
