The development of information technology and the arrival of the information age make software companies play an increasingly important role in the socio-economic.Only by recognizing the right partner and using the competition and collaboration strategy,can the software companies achieve excellent innovation performance and consolidate in an invincible position of the industry.First of all,this study reviewed the strategies of cooperation,competition and co-optition,and discussed the executors of these strategies,including Porter's theory of industrial organization,Brandenburger and Nalebuff's theory of the Net-value and Baohua Xiang's six-power model of interaction.After comparing the similarities and differences between these models,the paper built a theoretical model which assumed a positive influence relationship between the companies' co-optition strategy towards suppliers,customers,competitors,complimentor and their own innovation performance based on the Net-value model.The questionnaire was designed after considering the literature research and software industry realities,released through channels such as field surveys and software industry associations.SPSS 15.0 and AMOS 7.0.was used to analyze the data collected and to test theoretical hypothesis. By the end,a case study about innovation through smart union of Newground was discussed.The main findings are as follows:(1)The co-optition strategy towards supplier has a positive impact on companies' in-house technical innovation performance. (2)There is a positive influence relationship between the co-optition strategy towards customer and companies' market innovation performance.(3) Cooperation with companies implementors positive its technical innovation performance.(4)The co-optition strategy towards competitors had a positive impact on their own technical innovation performance.This study will help the software companies to identify the right partner who really benefits their innovation performance in a significant extent,encourage resource and capacity sharing among them in order to seek common interests and objectives.At the mean time,it could promote the healthy development of the software industrial chain.
