Research On Project Management Maturity Model

As the global competition is aggravated,the implementation of the project has gradually become an important means of enhacing the management level and achieving competitive advantage for an organization.Project management has been paid more and more attention by enterprises and been widely applied.When the enterprises vigorously promote the project management,they need to understand their own project management ability and position themselves.Therefore they need a benchmark to measure and improve the project management ability. Project management maturity model is properly a method of measuring the project management ability.It can be used in all kinds of enterprises including different size and types,different industries and culture to help cultivate and enhace project management ability,and improve project management level and competitiveness.Based on deeply research of project mamagement maturity model development at home and abroad,this disertation devotes to research on the improvement of the model.The disertation chooses widely used and high quantitative comprehensive index evaluation as basic model.And deeply analyze the deficiency of the basic model.First,the appraisal index system pays too more attetion to"hard index",such as project mamagement process indexes,while neglects"soft index",such as project team culture and project mamagement member.Second,the model is still overlapping,ambiguous,contradictory and the lack of improvement target.The disertation offers the pertinency improvement.One hand it prove the necessity of adding the two indexes: project team culture and project mamagement member through membership analysis,correlation analysis and differential analysis,on the other hand improve the accuracy and reasonableness of the model by adding the secondary indexes cobweb model using of the characteristics of fractal geometry.The disertation build new project mamagement maturity cobweb model according to the improvement above.Finally,apply the improved model to a specific enterprise organization,appraising the project mamagement maturity of the organization and supply propsels and measures to develping project management ability in order to verify the effctive of the model.The research indicates that project mamagement maturity model is an effective management tool for organizations to improve project mamagement ability and level.But the model is not mature,especially in our country the research and application of project mamagement maturity model is later,and the gap with the developed countries is still large.Therefore actively exploring for china's project mamagement maturity model is of great significace.
