| The intermediary business of commercial bank is defined as the business which consists of the bank's non-interest incomes but does not take into account of assets and liabilities of the balance sheet of the bank.The features of this business are high profits and low risk.Bank of China Macau Branch which is the ninth overseas branch of the head office of Bank of China,has good social prestige and sufficient fund of disbursement.After 57 years of development,it makes great progress in intermediate business.In the face of the intense competition and challenge from other banks,how to make a suitable development of intermediate business is the most important thing of the bank.It is also the purpose that this thesis is studied.The goal of the thesis is to research the intermediate business development of Bank of China Macao Branch.Through the analysis of the development,we know that the bank has some advantages including the wide of sites and the high degree of electronic of intermediate business,a top position for the way of management and the service quality.However,we also find that this bank is in the beginning stage for the intermediate businesses which can get high profit,such as negotiable securities and financial management.The bank has not a good consciousness of the marketing and stand in an inferior position for the lack of qualified personnel in this field. Although the bank meets the good opportunity for the high speed development of the economic in Macao,it faces the intense competition from other banks, the increasing assets business risks,and the customer services at the same time,so the advantage of this bank is reducing gradually.To develop the intermediate business is the only one strategy and the most effective way for the bank.This text has collected the updated materials through questionnaire investigation,utilizing statistical analysis method including Narrative analysis, Cross-over analysis,Correlation,SPSS to analyze and compare the collected materials.During the research,we could find customers are mostly interested in intermediate business,personal wealth management and investment products involving funds,foreign currencies,stocks,the utilization ratio is highest as well.Customers like to process these transactions electronically through telephone banking,online banking,etc.Study also find the variable orporation resource of Bank of China,manage manner of Bank of China,etc, are having great influence on the customers.In the view of above needs,this text will raise five suggestions for categories in products,customers,internal management,system reform, marketing strategies and so on.For example,energetically develop financial intermediary business,implement the product variation and diversification; strengthen customer lamination management,optimizing customer feedbacks; setting up incentive system,staff vocational training;strengthen the electronic trade channel,optimizing matching facilities;set up personal wealth management centre,actively promote business point,and so forth.This text is expected to solve the difficulty in course of operating and managing intermediate business,and offer some reference for other commercial banks to develop the intermediate business in Macau. |
