A Research On Evolution Of Chinese Family Business Governance Mode In Southeast Asia

As a form of business organizations, family business plays a very important role in economic development of many countries in the world. The Chinese family business plays a critical role in economic development in Southeast Asia. The governance mode of family control, such as Chinese family business in Southeast Asia, and the market control governance mode, such as enterprises in USA and UK, and relationship control governance mode, such as enterprises in Germany and Japan all have a great influence in the world. Many scholars used comparative research on these three governance modes. Some scholars are interested whether the family business corporate governance mode would change into the other two modes.From the development history and reality of Chinese family business in Southeast Asia, we can find that the family business corporate governance mode has not changed, but it was evolving all the time. In this thesis, under the "long time" history perspective, the family business corporate governance mode is divided into family owner style, family share style and modern family style with the perspectives including family, enterprise, the ownership and control, and construct a model on Chinese family business governance mode with control perspective. Finally, this thesis will try to answer the reasons of evolution and its path in the future.As most of the successful family business in Southeast Asia has more than fifty years in history and most family business in our country has less than thirty years in history, therefore, the history evolution research on Chinese family business corporate mode in Southeast Asia can provide some references for the family business in our country. This thesis will take instance of Lee Group, which has more than eighty years history, in order to prove the successful point of the evolution of Chinese family business governance mode in Southeast Asia.
