Governmental Function In The Supply Of Highway Transportation Infrastructure

The highway transportation infrastructure, as the foundation structure of the country's economy, is the important prerequisite to realize the development of economy and the progress of society. The public product characteristics and public welfare of highway transportation infrastructure decide that its supply cannot leave the government. Around our country's reformation and open policy, the change of government's function in the road infrastructure supplies bring the chance for the construction of road infrastructure, which makes the road development faster and faster, and the scale of road system will be higher and higher. However, there are several deficiencies in the government's function in the supply of the road infrastructure.Therefore, it is so important to consume the government's function in road infrastructure supply and make the rapid and benign result in road development. Firstly, this article embarks from the nature of road transportation infrastructure, in the foundation to explain the public product characteristics and public welfare of highway transportation infrastructure, then the paper analyzed the supply characteristic of the road infrastructure from the economic theory's angle. This thesis points out that the theory basis of supply can not leave the government. Then it enumerates the foreign government's procedures and achievements in road supply, while it analyze and compare the history and the domestic situation ,then point out a row of deficiencies in the government's function in the supply of the road infrastructure. In the basis of that, this paper proposed some suggestion and countermeasures what the government of our country should do.
