Study On The Application Of The Niche-fitness Theory On The Development Of The Cities In Jiangxi Province

City is the social-economic-natural artificial ecosystem. Urbanization brings people creature comfort with a series problems such as environment pollution,ecological damage,resource shortage and so on .It brings tremendous pressure on the urban ecosystem. Facing the numerous development and coordination problems in the urban construction, how to control urban ecosystem, set up the urban environment that is suitable for people living, has become an important subject for urban sustainable development. Under this background, studying on the urban ecosystem suitability has important practical significance.On the basis of the summary of the former researches, the paper includes the following aspects:(1) Paper introduces systematically the development of niche,urban niche,niche-fitness,urban niche-fitness theory. And it also expounds the research method of the urban niche-fitness index system and weighting.(2)On the basis of theory, the paper attempts to establish the index system of the urban niche-fitness evaluation. Based on the definition of urban niche, the final 43 indicators have been selected to build the urban niche-fitness index system by using principal component method and independence analysis from original selected indexes.(3)The paper summarizes the urban niche-fitness measure formulas, and establishes the urban niche-fitness model. Using this model, the paper evaluates the urban niche-fitness.(4)The paper uses statistical and survey data to evaluate the urban niche-fitness of 11 cities in Jiangxi province with the period of 2000 -2006, using the model. The evaluating results are studied for spatial-temporal analysis and similarity analysis.The results are as follows: first, various cities urban niche-fitness has increased, but the growth rate of each city is different. During 2000 to 2002, the growth rate is slow, while 2003 is turning point, then the fitness increases faster between 2004 and 2006; second, on the whole, various niche-fitness is higher in the north than that in the south and higher in the west than that in the east. The results also show that niche-fitness is higher in the plain than that in the hill. Some niche-fitness center is a northwest bias. Third, the production,living and total niche-fitness has a certain correlation. Among them, the living niche-fitness and total niche-fitness has high correlation; Fourth, the economic level and society environment exists greater correlation; fifth, the abundance of resources,environmental constraints,natural environment has a greater volatility. It means in the economic development of Jiangxi province, resources,environmental constraints and the natural environment of cities has a certain degree of instability; Sixth, the economy is an important factor for the regional niche- fitness.(5)Based on the conclusions, the paper gives some suggestions for the city development.
