The Study On Restricted Mechanism Of Hot Spring's Development And Protection In Guangdong

Hot spring resources, that is, geothermal resources, is renewable and clean energy resources, and also a kind of exhaustible tourism resources with highly commercial development value belonging to the public resources. Guangdong, which is rich in hot spring resources, leads the whole country in the development and utilization of Spa Tourism. The emergence of a large number of high-quality, high-input spa tourism enterprises have given rise to a Spa Tourism boom in Guangdong. However, the Guangdong tourism development, being influenced by various special factors right now, is at the stage where its public tourism resources are in a fragile and vulnerable state, and the Spa Tourism is facing numerous problems such as over utilization, lack of depth development, serious homogeneity and low profits. The characteristics of public resources make hot spring resources put up some negative externalities obviously, resulting in a "market failure"; at the same time, weakening of the government action lead to the "government failure" in resources protection. All these are bad for the Spa Tourism in Guangdong to develop in a healthy, sustainable and rapid way.Based on the author's field visits and in-depth interviews with some companies in Guangdong, the thesis mainly analyzes the systematic root of the improper use of hot spring resources. From the perspective of institutional arrangements, the thesis also suggests some binding measures in the standardized exploration and protection of hot spring resources, as well as the sustainable development of Spa Tourism, and tries to build a restricted mechanism of the development and protection of hot spring tourism resources in Guangdong. Starting from the government level, the use of interdisciplinary research means has far-reaching practical significance in the research of the development and protection of tourism resources.
