| In recent years, developed countries have carried on more and more restraints of trade measures to China's export by using TBT, and caused a very tremendous impact on China's foreign trade. Especially, when EU implemented "Two-green Directives"—WEEE and ROHS in 2005, the production costs of China's machinery and electrical appliances exported to EU have risen dramatically, and China's international competitive powers have fallen. Therefore, studies on EU's "Two-green Directives" and on reasons for the decrease of China's export competitive powers of machinery and electrical appliances to EU have vital practical significance to the smooth economical development of China's foreign trade.Firstly the paper explains the concept of TBT, analyzes the economic effect of TBT as well as the impacts on China's export of machinery and electrical appliances by EU's "Two-green Directives", and discusses their influence mechanism. Secondly the paper presents a case analysis of the impacts on Midea's electrical appliances by EU's "Two-green Directives", and obtains the conclusion that EU's "Two-green Directives" have substantive impacts on China's export of machinery and electrical appliances. Finally the paper puts forward some suggestions to Chinese government as well as the enterprises in the aspects of evading TBT and responding to EU's "Two-green Directives". |
