| As people's living standards and consumption habits changed, various retail formats have generated to meet consumers' demands. Convenience Store(CVS) appeared in the mid-19th century, then developed rapidly around the world because of its advantages in competition. In the modern world, information technologies develop speedily, foster integration with the global economy. Large chain convenience stores(CCVS) expand rapidly and the scale become more and more large. In the fierce market competition, informationization construction is the only way for an enterprise to survive and developing. How does the informationization construction effect the core competence of CCVS? The former researches were not enough.By innovating employ the retail enterprise value chain theory as the analytical foundation, using enterprise's resource theory, the paper has done a comprehensive analysis in how the CCVS' informationization construction effect their core competition power from the view of firm.First, CCVS use the information technology to coordinate enterprise's own value chains with suppliers' and sellers', get the advantages in competition, prompt the whole commerce ecosystem's sustainable development.Furthermore, CCVS accumulate an IT capability which the rivals hard to copy or reproduce. IT capability can assist the firm to put some competitive strategies into practice, Based on the IT capability's affect, CCVS get the persistent competitive advantages and the core competence. Then, we get a conclusion: IT capability is the key for the competition between CCVS, but the most important is the integration between information technology and organization, management, operation and innovation activity of the enterprise.Finally, this paper analyze the 7-11 chain convenience store's informationization construction as a case, expound how the information technologies effect its core competence in detail. By using the successful experience of 7-11 chain convenience store, we put forward a set of effective tactics to the actual conditions of Chinese CCVS. |
