Study On The Economy Transformation Of Coal Resource-based Cities In Shanxi

Shanxi is the major coal-producing area of China. There are many coal resource-based cities in this area, such as Datong, Yangquan, and Jincheng and so on. In the new era, with the economic system changes, changes in market demand and depletion of coal resources and other reasons, there are sever economic and social problems arise in these coal resource-based cities, such its single industrial structure, excessive reliance on coal resources industry, Serious ecological damage to the environment, laid-off and unemployed people increased, urban poor competitiveness and so on. These problems are seriously hindering the progress and development of the cities. Today, the sustained and healthy economic development and social progress, and achieving the socialist modernization have become the grand goal of the themes of the times. So, in the coal resource-based cities in Shanxi, people should as soon as possible change the way of economic development, take steps to realize the economy transformation. Only in this way, can we have a sustained and stable development of our economic and social, reduce the gap with developed cities, and archive the socialist modernization.This research paper mainly studies the way and the key measures of economy transformation by analyzing the present economic situation of the coal resource-based cities in Shanxi and learning from the experience of the domestic and international cities in transforming economy in order to archive a sustainable development of economic and social in these cities and have further development and revitalization in the coal resource-based cities of Shanxi even the whole country.This paper firstly makes analysis of the characteristics and the problems facing the economy of these cities, suggest that change the industrial structure and have economy transformed in these cities is the only way to have sustainable and healthy development It studies the experience and successful methods of the economy transformation from the coal resource-based cities which archive a successful economy transformation. According to the economy state and economic advantages of Shanxi coal resource-based cities, under the guidance of economy transformation related theory, this paper has done a comprehensive study on the question of economy transformation, such as the strategic planning, methods, mode, and the principle and so on. It also has talked about the ways and measures for the adjustment and optimization of the industrial structure, and several issues which should be paid much attention to. At last, paper comes to the support system for economy transformation and suggests that the government should making preferential policies to support the local economy transformation.
