| The Third Generation of Mobile Telecom System, abbreviated as 3G, provides more diversified telecom services, much faster connection speed, much clearer visual effects and more environmental-protective terminals. Though 3G has not yet been issued the operation license in China, it has no doubt become the focus during the process of constructing business operations by Chinese telecom operators.3G has different types of services and it is developing rapidly. At the same time, it raises difficulties to business operational support systems (BOSS) since operators are required to provide standardized services with higher efficiency in such a competing society.This article illustrates the development and services provided by 3G, describes its characteristics, summarizes the requirements and changes of BOSS of 3G by comparing it the with that of current systems, and finally provides the solution and evolution course of BOSS from one supporting 2G(2.5G) to one supporting 3G It is a reference to all telecom companies, telecom service companies and IT manufacturers. |
