Since 21 centuries, the economic globalization and regional economic integration have become an irreversible historical trend. Not only the developed countries but also the developing countries, they all have no possibility to develop besides the world. Therefore, the developing-mode of economic circulation between domestic and international has become a way to participate the economic globalization. Under this big background, the cross-border sub-regional economic cooperation has developed quickly, becoming a kind of new economic cooperation form to develop the economy in the world. At the same time, the establishment of North America Free Trade Area and Europe Union also proved that the cross-border sub-regional economic cooperation can promote the economic globalization and regional economic integration.The northeast Asia is one of the three world economies theoretically, and the central Asia is the center zone of"island in world"in geopolitics. However, these two areas have developed slowly for some reasons of history, politics and economy. China, one of the biggest countries in Asia, is having the prominent influence in politics and economy to the whole Asia. In order to adapt the economic globalization, and develop the economic circulation between domestic and international further, China actively participated the cross-border sub-regional economic cooperation, establishing the Tumen River Growth Triangle in northeast Asia, Lantsang-Mekong Sub-region in southeast Asia, the economic belt of the new Eurasian Continental Bridge in central Asia.Based on the theories of international economic trade, regional economy and geopolitics, this thesis applies both qualitative and quantitative analyses to study the economic cooperation in Tumen River Growth Triangle, the economic belt of the new Eurasian Continental Bridge and Lantsang-Mekong Sub-region from the angle of human geography, trying to make use of the theories to study with sub-regional economic cooperation in small areas. First, this thesis reviews the concept and former research theories of sub-regional economic cooperation, next puts forward the developing mode in spatial structure by giving analysis to the general developing situations in these three sub-regions. This thesis is constituted of five parts: The first part is introduction which is a total summation to the thesis. In this section the author introduces the background in choosing this subject, the research reviews and the research significance, method and process of thinking; in the second part, author analyzes the economic cooperation in Tumen River Growth Triangle mainly including the district situation, economic situation, current spatial structure in this region, and its spatial structure chosen in future. The same writing structure is used in the third and fourth parts, analyzing the economic cooperation in Lantsang-Mekong Sub-region and the economic belt of the new Eurasian Continental Bridge respectively; these three parts compose main body of the thesis; the fifth part is conclusion and discussions.
