China and India are the birthplace of eastern civilization, agriculture has always been the foundation of the national economy of the two countries, In modern times,China and India are facing similar historical circumstance------the colony orsemi-colony, and also facing similar historical tasks------national independence andmodernization.With the invasion of Britain and other western capitalist countries, China and India gradually became their sources of raw materials capital investment places. The formation and expansion of the international market promoted by industrial revolution, the improvement of transport conditions of China and India as the "constructive mission" of capitalist countries and the formation and expansion of the domestic market all have greatly promoted the commercialization of these two countries. This paper is about explanation and comparison on the reasons and performances of the commercialization of agriculture of China and India in modern times, and find out the characteristics of the commercialization of agriculture.The article is divided into four parts. Chapter I explain the commercialization of agriculture related concepts, as well as the cotton cultivation in the late Middle Ages or in the natural economy.Chapter II and III is the focus of this paper. Chapter II is mainly about the generalization and comparison of the reasons and performances of cotton commercialization in China and India in early modern times . In this period, the main reason of commercialization of cotton is the plundering of capitalist countries to China and India, the need of raw cotton became large. In addition, the economic policy, the start of modern national textile industry and so on all promoted the commercial development of cotton. the commercial development of cotton in this period have great development, which explain and compare from cotton plant area , cotton output, cotton commodity rate, cotton production regional specialization and so on.Chapter IIIis mainly about the generalization and comparison of the reasons and performances of cotton commercialization in China and India during the early stage of industrialization. In this period, export of capital gradually became the primary means of plunder, and large scale development of modern national cotton textile industry, the further improvement of transport conditions all have contributed to the expand need of cotton. So the cotton commercialization became further expansion and development during the early stage of industrialization, which also explain and compare from cotton plant area, cotton output, cotton commodity rate, cotton production regional specialization and so on.Chapter IV mainly analyze the characteristics of modern agricultural commercialization in China and India. Through the analysis of front chapters, and compared with the normal development of agricultural commercialization of western countries, and inspect the same characteristics of modern agricultural commercialization. In modern China and India, the commercialization of agriculture has made great development, but Indian has the higher degree of agricultural commercialization than Chinese. The biggest characteristic of Chinese and Indian commercialization of agriculture is deformity and forced-mode. In addition, the development of agricultural commercialization has a lot of false, agricultural productivity has not improved, and the living standard of farmers has also not improved. |
