With the progress of social development and rapid growth of petrochemical industry, It is imperative to build ERP(Enterprise Resource Planning) for petrochemical enterprises. PM(Plant Maintenance), as a submodule of ERP, is dedicated to the maintenance and management of process equipments and fixed assets.The development and management of ERP system which is focused on equipment maintenance in Sinopec Tianjin Branch is studied.This article has six chapters. The background of the article, research method and technical route is introduced in Chapter 1. Options of ERP software is discussed in Chapter 2 on the basis of brief description of ERP system. We analyze the necessity of ERP to the PM of petrochemical enterprises and presents the general design and organization of ERP project in the Chapter 3. We describe the process design, system configuration and SAP system fuction development in submodule PM of Sinopec Tianjin Branch ERP Project based on R/3 system of SAP company in the Chapter 4. It is also introduced in the chapter the performance of submodule PM, customer oriented development and equipment data collection, reduction, recording and the situation of enduser training. The effect of PM implementation is studied in Chapter 5. The integration of submodules of PM, material procurement and finace has unified the three sections, i.e., logistics, finacial flow and information flow. It helps a lot in terms of enhancing equipment managemenet, reducing material inventory, facilitating the turnover of funds and sound allocation of maintenance expenditure. Finally, Conclusion and Suggestion are set forth in Chapter 6.
