A team is a kind of special group which is composed of a group of people with different background, different skill, different knowledge and is characterized with high complementarity of member, multifunction of knowledge and skills, discrepancy of information.This thesis regards different developing stages of team building as point of penetration, and having the aid of the theory of team, analyzes and discusses the problems that enterprises will meet in the process of building a modern team from the angle of how to build a team .After ample investigation and research, the writer elaborates how to build a team from realistic and theoretical angles, and puts forward own views and opinions about how to build a team efficiently in enterprises.In the theoretical aspect, this article firstly has carried on the summary to the forming background and significance of a team. Next, has made the limits to the team, and briefly introduced team's some elementary theories. Finally it divides the process of team building into different developing stages on the basis of the developing law of a team. The first stage is forming period, the second stage is fluctuating period, the third stage is standardizing period, the fourth stage is executing period. In each stage, there are some specific contradictions, and each contradiction is different with another one, especially in different stages. In the hence, through earnest analysis, the writer puts forward different solutions on the basis of characteristic of different stages.In the realistic aspect, this thesis analyzes and studies the four stages (forming period, fluctuating period, standardizing period, executing period) of team building of a R&D department combining with a case about recent development of one chemical fiber firm and its Technical Development department in order to prove the above theory. In the end of the case, the writer points out several weaknesses of team building of the R&D department. First, the leading way should alter with maturity of team members; second, some work in fluctuating period could be done in advance aiming at special condition of R&D department; third, the work of encouragement should be well done.
