There is no denying that development is a significant topic in minority ethnic society at present time. The exploration of national tourism provides the ethnic district with a chance of economic prosperity. However, the negative effect of ethnic tourism, including decline of traditional ethnic culture, the loss of the authenticity challenges the sustainable development of ethnic tourism. Therefore, how to preserve the authenticity of the national culture and how to deal with the contradiction between the culture protection and exploitation has become a remarkable topic facing today's tourism industry. This paper creates an innovative separated protecting tourism exploitation model based on tourist's "staged authenticity" experience which allows the ethnic districts to escape from the loss of ethnic nationality. Ideally the ethnic culture system is divided into core culture and surrounding culture. Basically, the former one should be preserved while the latter could be made the best use of in the model, which achieves a win-win deal of ethnic culture protection and tourism economic benefit. This paper chooses the Dong Nationality in Sanjiang County as a case study to apply this model in order to grope for a way to protect and exploit the Dong's ethnic culture and give some useful reference to other ethnic tourism district. This model is merely a rudiment and need to improved, but the idea of separated exploitation would likely lead to novel academic research topics in the aspect of ethnic tourism exploitation.
