A Research On The Tourism Value Of Contemporary And Modern Chinese Cultural Relics

Contemporary and modern relics are very important to China and they have gained much public attention because of their contents and value. Once they are damaged, it's hard to be recovered. So their protection has become a serious problem. The key point in protection lies in funds, which has been a big problem. With the development of tourism, earnings from tourism have become an important source to collect money, which is very effective in protection of relics. But not all the relics are fit for tourism development. We need full understanding of the value of relics. So that relics can be scientifically developed.Tourism value in development of relics refers to the possibilities of changing relics value into tourism industry. It has two basic meanings. Firstly, tourism value depends on the relics values; secondly, environmental factors also decide tourism value. Research by experts shows that original value and development value affect tourism value. Original value includes construction value and relics value. Construction value includes seven factors: beauty of construction, original form, integrality, local features, oddity, rareness and reputation. Relics value includes six factors: value of scientific research, value of affections, historic events and characters, religious value, value in traditions, value of cultural extension. Development value includes resource features, economic environment, relics protection and development potential. Resource features include three factors: resource appliance, resource density, environmental harmony; economic environment includes: investment policy and investment benefits. Relics protection includes governmental attitudes to development and protection of relics, technology for relics protection, cooperation mechanism. Development potential includes convenience of transportation, scale of tourism environment, public infrastructure facilities, tourism facilities, safety of local tourism, image of local tourism and ecological environment.Level-oriented analysis shows that historic events and characters, resource appliance and investment benefits have the greatest influence. Value of cultural extension, value of affections and resource density has greater influence. Oddity, rareness, reputation, religious value, value in traditions, governmental attitudes to development and protection of relics, safety of local tourism are commonly important factors. Original form, integrality, local features, value of scientific research, environmental harmony, investment policy, technology for relics protection, transportation convenience, image of local tourism are of little importance, beauty of construction, scale of tourism environment, public infrastructure facilities, tourism facilities and ecological environment have the least importance.All these conclusions can be drawn by comparing the ruins of German governor residence and the ruins of employment on Qingdao Hill.
