The Research Of Participatory Development Model On Construction Of A New Countryside In Gansu Province

Construction of new socialist countryside is the historical mission in the process of modernization of China, however the main body of the construction of new socialist countryside is peasants, so, to improve the enthusiasm of the peasants and to meet the peasants' need is the method of construction of new socialist countryside. Participatory development idea and method will be able to meet the requirement, so in rural area, using participatory development method will be appropriate and correct. This dissertation discusses and explores the connotation of new countryside as well as the specific use of participatory development. To set up the application strategy for Gansu through the analysis of construction of new socialist countryside under the theory of participatory development and main body of construction of new socialist countryside under participatory development and the operational mechanism and long term mechanism .This dissertation applies in-depth research and discussion of the conditions of construction of new socialist countryside of Gansu, using documents, interview, social investigation, empirical research, questionnaire survey and comparison study. This dissertation firstly researches the connotation of participatory development mode, the instrumental method as well as theoretical basic of participatory development, then analyzes the lack of participation of peasants and the reasons. This dissertation explores the conditions of the construction of new socialist countryside under participatory development mode and points out the advantages and limitations to give suggestions and set the direction for the construction of new socialist countryside under participatory development of Gansu based on the real situations of Gansu province.
