The scale and extent of creative industries have become the important symbol of a country or city's comprehensive competitiveness level. In recent years many countries and regions started to set creative industries as strategic and pillar industries, and took appropriate policy to promote and support its development.This new industry, whose core asset is intellectual property rights, now is becoming a rising point in global economy and modern industry development.However, in addition to the necessary economic and cultural foundation, the protection of intellectual property is also indispensable for the development of creative industries. Based on the creators' creative intelligence results, the core values of creative industries are its creativity and innovation, because it is derived from individual creativity, skills and talents, used and developed through the intellectual property rights, provided with the creation of wealth and employment potential. Intellectual property is just the the monopolistic rights enjoyed by the creators for main achievements of its creative work, in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.Although the creative concept is warming up increasingly on a global scale and creative industries are continuously promoted, the theoretic study level of creative industries at home and abroad are still get behind the practice development. Moreover, systematic studies on the intellectual property protection of creative industries are lacked. For the creative enterprises, there are even no mature and adaptive intellectual property protection strategy systems at present.Based on the literature research of creative industries at home and abroad, this paper analyzed the own unique characteristics of creative industries, creative people and innovative enterprises.In accordance with the concept compare of creative industries and intellectual property rights, this paper analyzed the relationship between the intellectual property rights of creative results ownership. From the deep interviews with industry experts,this paper get a lot of important information about the current situation of the development of creative industries, issues and crises, some suggestions and opinions.This paper first gave a briefing on the characteristics of creative industries and its development situation at home and abroad, then analyzed the relationship between creative industries and intellectual property rights, and explored the significance of intellectual property protection for the development of creative industries.After that, it analyzed the detailed measures of intellectual property protection in different sections from the perspectiye of the industry chain.Finally, the current problems are advanced and a primary intellectual property protection system for the creative enterprises is established. This system includes setting goals, chosing the methods of get and protects intellectual property, which focused on four typical methods: brands, patents, copyrights, commercial secrets protection.
