A Study On The Bamboo Hat's Manufac Ture Craft And Its Cultural Functions Ofmaonan Ethnic In Guangxi

This paper uses anthropological field research method. The paper investigates an almost lost technology of Maonan nationality in Guangxi province in depth, that is the bamboo hat knitting technology in Xianan of Huanjiang county, the author detailedly records this traditional craftwork with illustration, offering reliable data for rescuing it. This paper not only investigates the change of the bamboo hat knitting technology, but also investigates the change of the bamboo hat's social and cultural function.This paper provides participatory and constructive comments for the Maonan bamboo hat's protection, inheritance and development, the author also points out that tourism development is an alternative development way for the protection and inheritance of bamboo hat. The author pondering in depth why and how to protect national traditional culture through a comparative study between Shangnan and Xianan village.
