Investigation On The Processing Technology Of Hepu Pearl

In this article, the author describes the process of the technology of Hepu pearl's being produced by applying the anthropological field research method, which includes selecting pearls, perforation, bleaching, brightening and polishing, and the author wants to record this modern technology which has far-reaching impact on the local pearl culture and to show the current characteristics of the initial technology of Hepu pearl's being processed in order to seek a developmental direction for the processing technology of Hepu pearl. We know that pearl industry is closely related to culture, history, foreign trade, aesthetics and the image of a country, although the development of the seawater pearl has a long history in China, the insufficiencies in the processing technology and craftwork development of the seawater pearl limit the growth of China's pearl industry. The poor quality of the original pearls, the pearl producers'misunderstanding in the application of pearl processing technology and concrete operation, the lack of technical exchanges and the unacceptable processing technology by the customers are the main factors that limit the dissemination and development of the pearl's processing technology. Facing the contemporary situation, only the government pay attention to the pearl processing technology, especially to the most initial processing technology, furthermore, the government should improve the quality of pearl, raise money from kinds of channels, increasingly publicize the pearl processing technology, support the dissemination of technology and technological innovation in all-around way and combine independent development with the introduce of the advanced foreign technologies, the pearl processing technology can be actively disseminated and developed in an all-around way on the basis of assuring the quality of pearls. Certainly, on base of the absorption and digestion the advanced foreign processing technologies we must make some innovations, at the same time, we must actively improve the pearl processor's quality of culture and arts. Finally, we should appeal the pearl processor to strictly obey the rules of the technical operations to improve the quality of the pearls.
