Research On Prouduct Design Strategy Based On Cost Control

Low cost is an important strategy for company competition,and let enterprise management focus on cost control.A large number of researches indicate that the initial design development stage has fixed 80%cost of the product,but nearly 20% could be controlde during the production process.Along with development ant popularization of modern production like Lean Production,the room for reducing product cost has minimized so in order to look for a break point for reducing product cost,a lot of companise and scholars turnde their attention to product development design stage.How to reducing product cost through design or control cost begin with design.We have many experience from practice and evolved many theories and methods such as Integrated design,DFC,standard design,building block design, etc.to guide product design.But the present research just limited to saarch special methods for cost control or prove the applicability about the methods.The author believes that the core of cost control is allow the resources be used effectively,and pursue a correct direction at the same time.The most effective method to reduce the wast of human resources,physical resources,financial resources and time is management.So this thesis is looking for the feasible ways to control product costs by introducing Design Management.Today's design process requests customer focus and many departments cooperate,but by current practices and studies we can found two main weak points which hamper lower costs in this process.First is about communication,the conflicts between different concepts cause many communication problems in the design team or between design organization and clients.Second,present processes about new product developments do not emphasize the characteristics of design.And can not let designers get used to cutting costs.These problems causes the design actions in efficiently.so as to control product costs,this study give solutions based on the two weak points above.For the purpose of smooth communication,we should reform the organizational structure,introduct Learning Organization to help the members share their knowledge and intellecion.These measures could bridge differences and build a efficient design team.We still should optimize the process,give a clear-cut expounder about design to stand out its important.It can help designers udndrstand the idea of cost control,have the clear target to finish their work efficiently.
