Pdm Control Applied Research, The Cost Of The Product Design Stage

Cost control is the eternal topic of corporation. Though the expense of design process occupies 5% of the product total cost, it decides 70%-80% of the product cost. This establishes the importance of cost control in product design stage which is also the focus point in expert's multidisciplinary approach.The paper aims at the problem of technique for cost control in design stage that at present time there has no systemic, omnibearingly and effective techniques for decreasing or controlling product cost. The paper uses computer technology Product Data Management(PDM) for the study of product cost control in design stage and constructs the control system of cooperative product cost omnibearingly under the environment of Cooperative Product Design. At first, it discusses the integration of information from PDM and interrelated techniques, and the foundation of database, which constructs the technical support platform of cost control system. Then, it discusses the instauration of cost correlative information model based on PDM in cost control system from the foundation of two parts, spare parts main model and product model. Next, it constructs the concept framework of cost control system with the application of engineering coaching method for product cost design. At last, it handles all kinds of design method and means to carry out the cost control system. After systemic theory ascertainment and models foundation, the paper applies the research through instance. It provides new method and approach for corporation actualizing foregoing cost control.
