Research On Andai Ritual In Kulun Area

This paper studies the traditional Andai Ritual of Kulun Banner in Tongliao in the Inner Mongolia as well as the life consciousness and the social functions embodied in the ritual items. The traditional ceremony of Andai singing in Kulun Banner presents the social life, the religious life and the cultural life of the early period of the east part of the Inner Mongolia, it takes an important part in the music culture of folk ceremony in the Mongolian nationality.The whole paper consists of three chapters: Chapter one, it introduces the survey of Andai within the boundaries of Kulun Banner. It takes up the following four aspects to discuss the basic situations of traditional Andai, they are the ritual procedures, the participants, the music & singing and the characters of the dance movements. Chapter two, it delineates the life consciousness and the aesthetics meaning in virtue of the analysis on the view of reproduction worship in the Andai ritual. In this chapter, the author compares Andai ceremony with Saman religion, the establishment of worship idea and the female sacrifice of Aobao respectively. This paper also probes into the moving strength in the life consciousness. In chapter three, it objectively analyses the social functions of Andai which has existed as a ritual.
