Actually, the economy in Guizhou not only developed in quantity and speed, but also in fund, talents, technology and transportation. Before anti-war, in Guizhou ,the development of industry and commerce is very slow due to the wars,social upheaval and other causes .The economy is agricultural. However, during anti-war period , Guizhou become the centre of politics, economy, military and culture , and its strategic position become more and more important , which causes the attention of the government. KMT government invested directly or indirectly in many important industries. Besides, the Guizhou provincial Government established Guizhou Ltd. Company, which made great contributions to the development of the economy. And many factories, financial establishments, school and talents from the east moved to Guizhou. Then, which provides the conditions of developing economy and the transportation improved greatly. It is leap-bounds development. Such as finance, industries, commerce, transportation. Due to all kinds of factors, such as increasing investments, industries, talents,technology,population and the development of agriculture and industry & commerce. Guizhou appeared prosperous. It became one of the most flourishing industrial and commercial areas. Guizhou is also the centre of transportation. It is the focus of several main roads. Roads and railways are built during that time. The most conspicuous one is aviation industry; more than ten airports are built. The out breath of funds, talents, equipment and transportation provided conditions for Guizhou's economic development.After anti-war, the KMT Government retreated. The conditions of developing economy disappeared. Meanwhile, the deterioration of economy and social upheaval makes Guizhou's economy stagnate or even fall back. |
