China is entering the automobile society with the astonishing speed. In 1998,Guangdong determined to make the automobile industry as one of three potential pillar industries to cultivate, transformed competitive ability research results to the industry plan according to the provincial party committee conference, made correlative policy decision and the provincial government work deployment, and formulated "Guangdong Province Automobile industry 2005-2010 Development Plan". As Guangzhou is the center to produce automobile for Guangdong Province, studing Guangzhou automobile industry development condition is of great importance.Guangzhou's automobile industry has formed passenger vehicle as a main item,including passenger cars,trucks,motorcycles and spare parts ,with complete industial chain link,the subject of investment and product variety multiplication and has become one of important bases foe domestic passenger vehicle.The automobile industry is a pillar industry and has formed three big automobile industry bases:Guangzhou eastern automobile industry belt, northeast Guangzhou Huadu automobile city and Nansha international automobile city.Firstly this article points out the research background and significance and domestic and foreign correlations literature of Guangzhou automobile industry development, discusses status of automobile industry in national economy and present situation and tendency of worldwide automobile industry.
