China' s private enterprises have began to flourish and become a sustained national economic growth, maintaining social stability and the motive force of social development. But most of the private enterprises are labor-intensive industries, the production methods and equipments and the technological content of products are at a low level, and some products are short of sustaining developable ability. Especially, some lowly technology-intensive "massive economy" are possessed of great share. As a result, the core competence is dull. The core competence is not only the basis of corporations which will be in a meaning of struggle for existence, but also the precondition of corporations which always want to keep sustain-developing capability and own sustainable competitive advantages in future competitive position with the competitors. This theory has urgent and practical significance for Chinese enterprises to improve competence and face international challenge after China' s entry to WTO. So, it' s important and urgent to research the core competence of private enterprises. The passage takes Zhejiang private enterprises which are the most activity and developable as the research object, and put forward a new thought with the core competence theory for resolving the problems from the strategy height. Besides, the article suggests that Zhejiang private enterprises should construct the core competence and resolve the inside deep level contradiction, and then achieve the aim of winning the competitive advantage. Basing on the theory of core competence and private enterprises related theoretical knowledge, this dissertation researches and forms a basic way how private enterprises evaluate and construct the core competence in detail. The dissertation consists of five chapters: The first chapter mainly testifies the background and significance of this dissertation, then briefly outlines research technique of this dissertation and points out its innovation. The second chapter reviews the related theoretical knowledge. In this chapter, we clearly define the core competence of private enterprises and systemically discuss the factors which influence constructing the core competence. Firstly, the third chapter brings forward the feasible way how private enterprises construct core competence, and then taking five domestic enterprises for samples, makes a empirical analysis of the core competitiveness in the index system and evaluation method. Therefore, based on the feasible way, the fourth chapter, combined with domestic enterprises, finally puts forward the strategy and suggestions. The fifth chapter makes a summary of the whole dissertation, and pointes out a prospect of the research in future.
