The Analysis On The Employment Effects And Influential Factors Of Producer Services

In developed countries,the attribution of tertiary industry to employment has past 70%. And the rapid growth of service employment over the last few decades has led to an increasing interest in the dynamics of this sector. While obviously,it can no longer be deemed sufficient to divide employment into the primary, secondary and tertiary groups,yet total disaggregation of the service sector into individual industry groups prevents an overview of such activity being gained. In the light of this,new classifications of services have been developed,and one particular service sector sub-group - producer services has arised.And there are some studies reflecting that this sub-group has been becoming the most important channel of emplyment growth. While in our country,the development of producer services lag largely behind,leading to the lag of study in this field.Based on defining the scope of producer services, this paper makes an empirical study on their absorbing ability in employment, by means of using employment elasticity and input-output methods.Furthermore,this paper weighs the growing space of employment from two aspects:structure deviation and the rate of profit versus cost & fare.The results show that both the direct and indirect employment effects of producer service are high, indicating that they have strong absorbing abilities and growing space in employment.Therefore,developing producer services should be the effective approach in solving employment problems of our country.After that, using Panel Data Model, this paper analyses the influence of urbanization, investment, wage and technology on producer services.And the result indicates that urbanization, investment and wage can boost the increase of employment with the effects stronger one by one, while technology has the negative effect;besides, every factor has different impact on different industry.Relying on these analysis,this paper put forward some brief political proposals on how to develop the producer services with the aim of promoting employment.
