| "Tourist-dedicated"train is the earliest product of tourism, by which Thomas Cook, the father of modern travel agency, started modern tourism activities in 1841. After more than 160 years'development, many countries have developed their own special tourist-dedicated train. In China, travel by train is developing greatly nowadays due to some particular features of China. For example, railway in China does not have a long history, the economy is not very good, the area is very large and railway has a lot of advantages that other means of transportation do not have. Since the first acceleration of railway, tourist-dedicated train has developed in a large scale, which attracts much attention of the travel managers, and has become a hot topic for research. Based on the background, this thesis intends to make a comprehensive analysis of the tourist-dedicated train within the frameworks of economics, marketing, psychology and management.Based on the previous research and the background of the great development of the tourist-dedicated train, the writer puts forward the research method. Firstly, the thesis defines the tourist-dedicated train, describes the present situation of the development of the tourist-dedicated train, and points out the fundamental conditions and some problems. Then the thesis investigates the influence of the diversified environment such as politics, economy, transportation and resources market. In addition, through a large number of questionnaires and materials, the thesis analyzes the consumers'behaviors and the factors that affect their behaviors, and the spatial distribution of the consuming market. Based on the study mentioned above, the thesis makes a systematic research on the development of the tourist-dedicated train and suggests the development of special tourist-dedicated train, such as the plan of the tourist-dedicated express, tourist-dedicated train for the Qinghai-Tibet travel, and the tourist-dedicated train for the old. Finally, the thesis puts forward some measures, which makes much sense for the development of the tourist-dedicated train.Through a detailed and comprehensive analysis, the present research concludes: though there are some problems in the development of the tourist-dedicated train, due to the special characteristics of China and the advantages and the developing space of the tourist-dedicated train, it is in a period of steady development and it will be the main transportation means for people to travel. However, because of the railway marketization and the fierce competition between different transportation means, the market of tourist-dedicated train should be specialized and the product should develop in a quality-oriented direction.The significance of the present research consists in several aspects as below: it makes an analysis of the needs of the consumers of the tourist-dedicated train and the factors that may affect the needs; it illustrates the procedures and the strategies of developing tourist-dedicated train systematically and points out some measures to develop the tourist-dedicated train. However, the present research only makes a macro analysis of the procedures of developing new products but does not analyze the economical benefits brought by the tourist-dedicated train. Besides, the present research does not make an analysis from the perspectives of the travel agency and railway stations.To sum up, based on the previous research, this thesis attempts to make a systematic analysis about the tourist-dedicated train, enriches the research in this field and provides a good foundation for further study. |
