In order to solve this problem, lots of enterprises have been changing their company operation model and tried to take advantage of the latest results in academia and real word practice but only come up with very few fruitful results. After careful analysis, the author regard the main reason for the R&D failure lies in the bad coordination among different company departments, especially in early stages in product development. The traditional decision process for new product development will cause the bias that the development task mainly lies in R&D department and there isn't much other departments can do. In addition, the traditional decision process can't coordinate departments or make decisions efficiently enough.Based on the above concern, this thesis focuses on the study of early stage R&D model for new product development. One result of this thesis is to build an early stage R&D decision model for new product development based on interface management. This thesis effectively solved the problem of ordering and selection, which enables the companies to make working plans for different departments in the next stage. So the R&D function can be more effective and efficient. The thesis consists of four parts, including analysis of organization structure and new product development process, a study on company interface management, an early stage R&D model for new product development based on interface management and a real world example using this model. An early stage R&D model study includes organization operation process model study and decision making model study. We built the decision making model after full consideration of different stage goals. We adopt hierarchical analysis for the assignment of evaluators' subjective weights; we use fuzzy evaluation method in internal information summary and selection; we use group decision to summarize plans of different department and their ordering; we use PERT for the analysis of the assessment and value judging of the intra-department plan; we use linear programming to analyze cross department new product development plan. In the real world example, the author used a second stage product re-R&D of a real estate project for illustration and solved the problem of plan assessment and ordering. After the integration of the characteristics of early stage R&D of new product development and the thoughts of interface management, we come up with a reasonable decision making model. On this basis, we showed the application of our model and made objective assessment of it using used a second stage product re-R&D of a real estate project for illustration. We hope this study can provide a new perspective for the decision making of new product development in companies. Also we want to provide some valuable insights for the establishment of decision supporting system in companies' new product development process. | Keywords/Search Tags: | New Product Development, Interface Management, Decision, Model, Early Stage | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
