Tourist industry has leapt to and become the first leading industry in the world, which results from social and economic development. The eco-tour, as the mostpotential in tourist industry, has revealed the strong vitality and broad developingprospectsincetheeightiesofthe20thcentury. Anditischaracterizedbysomeadvancedconcepts such as returning to nature as the fundamental key, advocating a harmoniouscoexistence of human beings and nature, adhering to the sustainable development viewand emphasizing that people should enjoy natural beauties with an awareness ofenvironmental protection. With high value of both theory and practice the eco-tour isessentially important to human survival and development. It is also a natural resultfollowing mankind's reflections on nature and his behavior, which not only reflects thephilosophy thought of harmonious and sustainable development between people andnature, but also promotes the civilizations of human manner and social ecology, andbringsaboutaprogressineconomyandthesetting-upofaharmonioussociety.At the present stage, a lot of questions appear too in the fast development ofeco-tour. That's to say lacking a scientific world outlook and the guidance ofmethodology mankind as the subject of eco-tour has caused a lot of damages to theobject-ecological resources both subjectively and objectively. The scientific view of aharmoniousoverallandlastingdevelopmentofeconomysocietyandecologywhich wasput forward during the Third Plenary Session of the 16th Party Central Committee ofCommunist Party of China, serves as a favorable theory weapon of the development ofeco-tour under the new situation. To realize the scientific development of eco-tour mustrequire efforts from the eco-tour subject-tourists, tourism development operators, theresidents of tourist sites and the object- ecological resources and the socialsuperstructure. On the one hand, it requires good grasp of principles of the preferentialprotecting, restriction in quantity, appropriate planning, environmental management andcontinuous utilization, and of yardsticks of interests, truth, aesthetics, and ethics; on theother hand, it also calls for an appropriate handling of the relation of economic, socialand environmental benefits, the relation of generality and individual character, relationbetween maximal and best reception amount in tourist sites and relation betweenimmediate and long-term interests. Finally, we must understand the real purport of theeco-tour, adhere to the Marxist world outlook and methodology, and hold a scientificdevelopmentviewfirmly.
