At the present stage, distribution center has become a popular topic not only in the field of research but also in application domain. With the development of the economics, our country has been called the world factory, and the manufacturing companies are developing rapidly. Distribution center plays an important role as the core of the circulation intermediates. And it needs to be that way: many distribution centers in our country changed from the storage centers, so there is a long way to go for the operation systems of these distribution centers to compete with the ones of the foreign distribution center. Based on this situation, this article draws lesson from the theory of lean thinking to analyze the current operation systems of distribution center. With the aid of the results of analyzing, we think that the distribution center should modify some other systems, for example, the organizational structure before the operation system was optimized. Only in this way, the operation system which was put forward based on lean thinking is useful for the distribution centers in our country.This article began from the appearance and development of the distribution center and explained the functions and effects. We found the shortages after we analyzed the current situation in distribution center. Then we analyzed the operation system, need to point out that we did this based on the lean thinking and some theory correlated with IE. At last we brought forward the principles to optimize the operation system and the goals we wanted to reach. What's more, we analyzed the current operation system and get ready for optimization.After the analyzing work done, this article summarized the steps to construct the new operation system, and ameliorated the organization structure which would be fitful to the development of distribution center. In the end, the optimized operation processes was brought forward and some details in these processes was described.Finally, the optimized operation system has been used and examined. The author has chosen a typical company–WeiMan Company. According to the concrete conditions of the company, this article sets about carrying on the optimized operation system and has designed a new organization structure for WeiMan Company which would be helpful for the new operation system.
